Simbu appears to be fast ‘specializing’ in single track audio releases. The actor, whose single-track album ‘Evandi Onnai….’ from his latest film Vaanam became quite a rage among youths, is said to be planning another single-track audio release for his upcoming film ‘Osthi’ as well.
The trend of releasing a single-song audio track of films prior to the original audio-launch appears to be catching up in a big way in Kollywood as the song creates expectations about the rest of the album. Insiders say that Simbu’s upcoming film ‘Osthi’, which has musical score by Thaman, would also have a one-track release prior to its ‘official’ audio-launch.
For the record, ‘Osthi’ is the remake of the Bollywood super-hit film ‘Dabbang’ which starred Salman Khan in the lead role of a tough cop. The Tamil version is being directed by Dharani, who has given some riveting action films in the form of ‘Dhil’, ‘Dhool’ and ‘Ghilli’. This would be the first time, though, that Dharani would be directing Simbu who pairs up opposite Richa Gangopadhyaya in the film.
‘Dabaang’, the original, had a smashing item number ‘Munni Badnaam Hui…’ and it remains to be seen how and on whom the same ‘items song’ would be picturized. It was earlier said that Shriya Saran might do the song but she has said that she wasn’t approached. Simbu appears to have spoken to ex-flame Nayantara about starring in the ‘item song’ but couldn’t elicit a positive response from her too.
The talkie portion of the film’s shoot has just been wrapped up. Besides the lead pair, the film features ‘Jithan’ Ramesh, Saranya Mohan, Revathy and Sonu Sood.
