According to sources, Simbhu is set to act in the remake of the Tollywood film Vedam . Directed by Krish, the film starred Allu Arjun and Anushka failed miserably at the box-office. However Supergood Films RB Choudhary has bought the Tamil remake rights for a fancy price. Anushka played the role of sex worker in the film.
Choudhary’s son, actor Jitthan Ramesh, apparently was instrumental in procuring the rights and he may turn producer. According to sources Ramesh felt Simbhu has an image both among the masses and the youth post VTV and would fit the role.
The movie is will be remade with the same cast and crew except for a small change, with Silambarasan replacing Allu Arjun in the movie. Simbu will play the role of a cable guy in the movie, and will have Santhanam accompanying him all through.
The latest we hear is that Simbu has done a photo shoot for the film. Some sources say Anushka who did the original is not interested and the makers are trying to rope in Taapsee for the role of the commercial sex-worker in the film.
