Sizzling Shweta Menon, the actress who recently got married in her native Kerala, is all set to begin her post-marriage innings in Kollywood in style. The sexy Shwety has been signed up by director Vasanthabalan to play a temple danseuse, popularly known as dasi in olden days, in his upcoming period flick titled ‘Aravaan’.
‘Aravaan’ has been in the making for quite some time now. The film stars actor Aaadhi and actress Dhansika (of ‘Peraanmai’ and ‘Maanja Velu’ fame) in lead roles. The script of the film is set some centuries back. This would be Vasanthabalan’s first film after his award-winning effort ‘Angaadi Theru’ which stirred the emotional cords in the viewers’ hearts more than an year ago.
T. Siva produces ‘Aravaan’ on behalf of his Amma Creations. The shooting of the film has been going on, almost non-stop, in various Southern districts of the State. The film also has Pasupathy, who has been in the wilderness for more than an year now, playing a significant role. Bollywood’s Kabir Bedi, who has starred in a few English films as well, will also be essaying an important role in the film.
Shweta’s presence would no doubt prop up the film’s value among the distributors when the film comes up in the distribution circle. Shweta’s latest Malayalam film ‘Rathi Niretham’, which released prior to her marriage, is said to be going great guns. The actress is said to indulged in some ‘liberal’ skin show in the film which has apparently resulted in the film faring well at the box-office.
Shweta recently opined that she didn’t regret the fact that she starred in the ‘Kamasutra’ condoms advertisement. In this backdrop, is there any doubt that her presence would only augur well for ‘Aravaan’?
