The stunning Shruti Haasan is soaking in all the adulation and appreciations she had been getting for the past week on the eve of release of 7aum Arivu, her debut film in Tamil as heroine. The film, which pairs her opposite Suriya and directed by A.R. Murugadoss, released on Deepavali last Wednesday and has been running successfully at all the centres all over the State and elsewhere.
Daughter of ‘Ulaganayagan’ Kamal Haasan, Shruti is already compared to her illustrious father in terms of acting. Shruti is presently starring in a film titled 3 opposite Dhanush which is directed by the actor’s wife and one of Shruti’s best friends, Aishwarya. The talented Shruti can compose music, write lyrics and sing in her own voice, which can be a great plus if seen together with her flooring looks and acting credentials.
Talking about her foray into films, Shruti says “I also have a couple of Telugu films on hand. My father has given me complete freedom which allows me to take my own career decisions. “Of course, I’m confident because I have the ‘economic’ back up. I have learnt that only hard work and dedication would take an actress forward and lead her to succeed in her career.
“I involve myself completely in whatever I do: be it acting, composing music or writing lyrics or something else. I’m living life to the fullest and on my own terms. Each and every step of mine is a measured one which is done entirely on my own wish. In fact, I’m my own guide. At times, I used to consult my parents on important issues; still, I’d be the one who takes the final decision,” concludes Shruti.
Shruti has scored the music of Kamal Haasan’s Unnaipol Oruvan which released in 2009 and was directed by Chakri Toleti.
