In a day of rapid developments, actress Amala Paul exited as the heroine of debutant director Aishwarya Dhanush’s upcoming film ‘3’. Though the actress was at pains to insist that she walked out of the film on her own as she couldn’t allot dates for the shooting schedule of the film fixed in September, it is rumoured strongly in Kollywood that she was ‘axed’ from the film for goofing up her call-sheet schedules.
Amala Paul, who has recently singed up her first Telugu film, had reportedly given bulk dates to shoot for the film which probably prevented her from adjusting the ‘dates’ for the Dhanush-starrer ‘3’. Amala later said that she wasn’t ‘sacked’ from the film and that the parting of ways was ‘cordial’ after she explained to Aishwaya in detail about her call-sheet problems.
Shruti Haasan, the stunner, has now stepped into the film in place of Amala and would be pairing up opposite Dhanush. Ironically, Aishwarya’s original choice as heroine of the film was Shruti; as she was busy with her prior commitments in Tollywood, she couldn’t be signed up and instead of her, Amala Paul was chosen. Aishwarya had in fact gone on record stating that he penned the script with Shruti in mind.
Shruti would soon be debuting in Tamil films as heroine in A.R. Murugadoss’ 7am Arivu opposite Suriya. The film is likely to be released on Deepavali. As the shooting of her Telugu film has been postponed by two months, Shruti immediately said ‘yes’ to Aishwarya’s offer to star in ‘3’.
‘3’ is already being looked at as a ‘major film’ as it brings together the son-in-law of superstar Rajinikanth and the daughter of ‘Ulaganayagan’ Kamal Haasan for the first time on-screen!
