Actress Shriya Saran has said that she has this long-pending desire to play the lead role in a full-length comedy film. The curvaceous Shriya paired up opposite superstar Rajinikanth in the highly successful Sivaji: The Boss a few years ago. As it happens with heroines pairing up opposite Rajini, Shriya got many film offers opposite top heroes but spoilt the party by doing an ‘item number’ in a Vadivelu-starrer.
Ever since she did so, offers started dwindling. After a great struggle, Shriya has managed to recover and is quite busy with the shooting schedules of her Telugu, Hindi and English films. She, however, doesn’t have a single film in Tamil and was last spotted in Vikram’s Rajapattai where she performed a song with Vikram and Reemma Sen.
Speaking to reporters recently, she hit a philosophical tone. “Time decides everything; it’s not entirely in our hands to shape our destiny. Something which occurs yesterday may not be here today; as such, another thing which occurs today might not be there tomorrow. I have learnt to take things in my stride. I have done many divergent roles in my career thus far in films.
“However, I have an urge to star in a full-length comedy film. I’m not sure when I’d get such an opportunity. Horror films don’t excite me; in fact, I hate them. I’d never even star in such movies. Personally, it’s my feeling that the audiences who pay to watch the movies shouldn’t be made to feel terrorized,” concludes Shriya.
