Reports say that actress Shriya Saran has already vacated her posh bungalow in the Valasaravakkam locality on the outskirts of the city in order to move out of Chennai. The no-show of her latest film ‘Rowthiram’ opposite Jiiva apparently acted as the ‘last straw’ which forced her to take the extreme step of moving out of the headquarters of Tamil films, it is said.
The curvaceous Shriya Saran was counting a lot on ‘Rowthiram’ to deliver the goods for her but was reportedly shattered by the film’s failure at the box-office. The film’s no-show meant that Shriya would have to continue to stay in Chennai with no film on hand which she apparently didn’t like.
Shriya debuted in the Tamil film ‘Ennaku 20 Unakku 18’ but it was ‘Mazhai’ opposite ‘Jayam’ Ravi which gave her an identity as heroine. Soon enough, she got the once-in-a-lifetime offer of pairing up opposite none other than superstar Rajinikanth in the super-hit film ‘Sivaji: The Boss’ directed by Shankar. The film’s colossal success brought more films in her kitty.
She had films like ‘Tiruvilaiyadal’ opposite Dhanush, ‘Azhagiya Tamizhmagan’ opposite Vijay, ‘Kandhasamy’ opposite Vikram and ‘Thoranai’ opposite Vishal releasing in succession during the past 3-4 years. ‘Kutty’ opposite Dhanush and ‘Chikku Bukku’ opposite Aarya were her last couple of films prior to ‘Rowthiram’, which also didn’t do well at the box-office despite water-tight screenplays and some excellent performances.
In the hindsight, it appears that her decision to dance for an ‘item number’ with Vadivelu has made producers and directors ignore and neglect her completely despite her amazing dancing skills, acting credentials and a figure-to-die for not to mention her superb complexion.
