After the successful Poraali, the multi-faceted Sasikumar has announced his next film which has been titled as Kuttipuli. The film is being produced by Muruganandam of Village Theatres, who produced last year’s critically acclaimed Vaagai Sooda Vaa which was directed by Sargunam and which later won the national award as the ‘best feature film in Tamil’.
Sasikumar’s performance was appreciated in Poraalai which released late last year. In keeping with his trend of unearthing new talents and giving them opportunities to direct films, Sasikumar is introducing Muthiah, who had earlier worked under Boopathy Pandian as an assistant director, as the director of Kuttipuli.
Mahesh Muthusamy would be the cinematographer of the film which would have music by Gibran. Lyricist Vairamuthu has been entrusted with the responsibility of penning all the lyrics in the film. The film is likely to be made with its script having the holy town of Srivilliputhur (which has the Divya Desam temple) as its backdrop.
Though very little has been revealed about the script, it is likely to give thrust to the various sacrifices and courages displayed by a woman at many stages of her life: as a daughter, as a sister, as a wife, as a head of the family and as a mother-in-law. The film is likely to go to the floors from June on wards.
Heroine opposite Sasikumar and other lead actors would be chosen in the days to come, it is reported.
