Actor-director-producer Sasikumar has done it again. The bearded multi-faceted star has silently delivered another hit film in Poraali. In his typical style, the film has achieved the success with not much ado or publicity. Samuthirakkani, director of the film and a close friend of Sasikumar, had remarked at the time of the film’s release that he hoped that the public would appreciate his novel effort.
As it turned out, the common man appears to have taken a liking to the film’s script and the performance of the lead actors in the film including Sasikumar and Swathi. Sasikumar has also completed the shooting of his first-ever Malayalam film titled Masters. In order to connect with the Malayalee audiences, Sasikumar has decided to dub in his own voice for his character in the film.
Interestingly enough, Masters is being released in Tamil Nadu not in its Tamil-dubbed version but in the original Malayalam version. After he finishes the dubbing schedule of Masters, he is likely to commit himself to play the lead role in a film to be directed by Prabhu, one of his aides. Besides offering Prabhu a chance to become a director, Sasikumar would also be producing the film.
The film has been tentatively titled Sivappu Kambalam for the time being. The genial Sasikumar is also helping out Swathi, his Poraali heroine, to bag more offers in Tamil. In fact, he heard not one but five scripts recently from a director before ‘okaying’ one of them for Swathi to sign and take up the project which would be produced by Satish Kumar, who has made films like Kanagavel Kaakka. Naresh would be the newcomer debuting as hero opposite Swathi in the film which would be made sans any song.
