Sarathkumar, the president of Nadigar Sangam and president of the political outfit floated by him, has denied rumours which appeared in sections of the press in the past couple of days stating that he has agreed to play a significant role in director A.R. Murugadoss’ upcoming film Thuppakki which has Vijay and Kajal Aggarwal in lead roles.

Vijay plays an ‘encounter specialist’ in his first film with Murugadoss, who has made super-duper hits like Ghajini and 7am Arviu starring Suriya in the lead. Reports said that Sarath Kumar was the latest addition to the film’s cast. It was also reported that the film’s shoot had been wrapped up except for portions involving Sarath Kumar.

Expressing surprise as to where from these reports emanated, Sarath said “It’s ironical that I came to know about my ‘inclusion’ in the film through news in websites and journals. Actually, I’m just back in Chennai after visitng U.S. The moment I landed up in Chennai, I got flooded by phone calls and queries about my role in Thuppakki.

“All the news about my role in Thuppakki haven’t an iota of truth associated with them. I don’t know who started. It’s upt to the press to be responsible in reporting after checking the facts. I’m open to starring in multi-starrer films. My film Vidiyal opposite Sneha is likely to release in a month’s time, reveals Sarath.
