Sarath Kumar, the president of South Indian Film Artistes Association says he wants to focus on more challenging characters than the typical hero.
Saying that he would like to toe the line of Amitabh Bachchan, Sarath adds, “I don’t want to do roles where the hero bashes up thousand villains and runs behind the trees anymore. It’s time I move on to more challenging characters. That’s the reason I’m now taking the Big B route. Though he is not playing the hero in his projects, he is doing pivotal roles, around which the story revolves.”
Sarath is currently acting in ‘Vidiyal’ and ‘Sethusamudram’ in Tamil besides ‘Christian Brothers’ and ‘The Metro’ in Malayalam.
Sarath Kumar also does a cameo in ‘Kanchana’ , directorial venture of Raghava Lawrence. On Kanchana, says Sarath. “My role will be a suprise element. You will have to wait and watch for that. “
