Cinematographer turned director Santhosh Sivan has added another feather to his cap with his special offering Urumi receiving a positive response from around the world. So much so, that the movie has been hand-picked for the NHK Asian Film Festival in Japan. Santhosh’s Urumi happens to be a big scale release with actors from both Kollywood and Bollywood hopping in to make it a big success.
Both Tabu and Vidya Balan have pivotal roles to play in the flick with others including Prithviraj, Arya and Prabhu Deva delivering an internationally pulling performance. Santhosh Sivan who is presently trying to set the right angles for mermaid Angela Johnsson shooting on an upcoming Vijay flick, was in news earlier regarding a new flick based on the Eelam Tamil issue titled Ceylon. The prolific cameraman disclosed that he wanted to shed light on the condition of the poor fisherman in the war torn nation of Sri Lanka and that the project was one of his unfulfilled dreams.
Now a happy Santhosh Sivan will start hunting for a new pair of expensive lenses, with the Japanese screening news for Pathinaindhaam Nootraandu Uraivaal ( Urumi ) providing all the motivation.
