Acclaimed cinematographer Santhosh Sivan is all set and ready with his monumental offering titled Urumi. The movie will be releasing in a total 4 languages i.e. Malayalam, Tamil, Hindi and English on March 31, 2011.
The Tamil version of the movie has been officially christened as Pathinaindham Nootrandu Uraivaal (PNU) as the movie revolves around the life of a boy who is on a desperate mission to kill Vasco Da Gama .A period film set in the 15th century the movie also has Genelia D’souza who is playing a Portuguese Princess. The film has a notable star cast that includes Prithviraj, Prabhu Deva, Arya, Genelia, Vidya Balan, Tabu, Nithya Menon, Jagathy and many others.
The movie is being released under the August Cinema banner and produced by Santosh Sivan, Prithviraj and Shaji Natesan. Music is being composed by Deepak Dev who has worked with maestro AR Rahman earlier.
The movie which is said to be Santhosh Sivan’s first full fledged commercial offering will surely attract a lot of attention this summer.
