It’s not often that a film’s remake is talked about even before its theatrical release and the response to the public to the film’s script. It has, however, happened with director Lingusamy’s upcoming film Vettai which stars Madhavan, Aarya, Sameera Reddy and Amala Paul in lead roles.
The film’s audio-launch was held a few weeks back in Chennai. Actor and television host Jagan kept the audience interested with his witty one-liners at the grand audio-launch. With peppy music by Yuvan Shankar Raja and powerful performances by the lead cast, the film is predicted by pundits to do well at the box-office.
Produced by Lingusamy’s banner Thirupathy Brothers and marketed by UTV Motion Pictures, the film has already caught the attention of film-makers from other language film industries. Sources close to Lingusamy say that the script has been ‘perfectly woven’ in such a manner that it would appeal to people from States speaking various languages.
Lingusamy has reportedly decided to first remake the film in Hindi. He is said to have narrated the story to Bollywood superstar Salman Khan who agreed to star in the film immediately after listening to the script from the director. Actors to play other characters would be decided soon, it is revealed.
Lingusamy is likely to start work on the Hindi remake of Vettai in a few months’ time from now.
