RK, the industrialist-turned-actor and the force behind the multi-level marketing giant V-Can, is said to be playing a pivotal role in director Bala’s upcoming film ‘Avan Ivan’. The heavily-built RK has had two releases as hero in ‘Ellam Avan Seyal’ and ‘Azhagarmalai’. His third project in the lead role is ‘Puli Vesham’ opposite Sadha, which is being directed by veteran P. Vasu.
In the meantime, RK got a call from director Bala’s office last month. Bala asked him to play a significant role in the film, said to be almost parallel to that of Vishal, one of the two heroes in the film along with Aarya. Though RK had decided only to play lead roles, he had made an exception as it was a film by Bala, the man who has made ‘Sethu’, ‘Nandha’, ‘Pithamagan’ and the award-winning ‘Naan Kadavul’.
Appearing in a never-before make-over, RK did exactly what was expected from him by the temperamental director. It was because RK’s sincerity and dedication and Bala’s handling that the portion involving RK was completed in just 40 days. This made Bala very happy and he appreciated RK for his co-operation, punctuality and dedication to his work.
After getting clearance from Bala that he could start work on his next project, RK started shooting for his upcoming film ‘Kadamai Kanniyam Kattuppadu’, a film in which he plays a tough cop who is also an ‘encounter specialist’. In order to suit the cop’s role, RK shed loads of weight, became slim and visited Bala on the sets of ‘Avan Ivan’.
Bala couldn’t believe that it was the same RK he directed some time back and said that he thought that ‘a Police officer had come’ to meet and talk to him. RK was highly ecstatic as he knows that getting appreciation from Bala, the ‘perfectionist’ in Kollywood, is as tough as climbing the Mount Everest blind-folded!
