Remember Reema Sen, who scorched the screen with her flawless performance first as an archaeologist and then in a historical character in director Selvaraghavan’s adventure flick Aayirathil Oruvan? The Bengali babe, who debuted in Tamil films as heroine with Gautham Menon’s Minnalae opposite Madhavan, recently announced that she had been engaged to a Delhi-based hotelier whom she would be marrying soon.
For some reasons, Reemma’s amazing performance in Aayirathil Oruvan failed to land up more offers in her kitty. With the news of her engagement trickling in a few months back, industry folks predicted that it would be the end of the road for Reema in Kollywood and elsewhere as married actresses are traditionally neglected. They are not offered lead roles in films and only manage to land up ‘sister’ and ‘mother’ roles.
Reemma’s comeback film in Tamil is yet to be given a title and would be directed by debutant director Rajkumar, an erstwhile assistant director who has worked under A.R. Murugadoss till recently. Reema is being paired opposite a newcomer Baskaran in this film, produced by Blue Ocean Pictures. G.V. Prakash Kumar scores the film’s music which would have Boopathy as its cinematographer. Antony would be the editor of the film.
The photo-shoot of the film is to be held in November. Reports say that the newcomer, who plays the hero, is none other than Baskaran who is associated with Jaya TV. Incidentally, Baskaran had announced a few days that he would be debuting in films. He had said that he would be revealing about the heroine and other members of the cast at a later date.
