The pretty and picture-perfect Ramya Nambeesan was the cynosure of all eyes in the recent hit film ‘Kullanarikootam’. The film, which had Vishnu opposite her, was neither made with a huge budget nor with a big star-cast but managed to catch the audience’s attention besides doing a reasonably business at the box-office.
Despite the success of the film, Ramya is upset that she is not being flooded with offers to act in Tamil films. Ramya, who debuted in Cheran’s ‘Raman Thediya Seethai’ a few years back, hails from Kerala but has brushed up her ‘spoken Tamil’ very well and sounds confident that she would be able to dub in her own voice for her characters in her future assignments.
“I would soon be making my debut in Kannada movies opposite Ajay Rao. The film, as yet untitled, would be a comic venture. I play a rich NRI girl who is based in Malaysia. I’m not here to compete with Bhavana; in fact, Bhavana and I are very good friends. I’m here because I have been offered a role which would hopefully provide me a good beginning in Kannada films.
“I am quite happy about the success of Kullanarikoottam. Starring in Kannada films need not necessarily mean that I’m out of bounds for Tamil film producers and directors. As and when I’m offered a good role, I’d no doubt come back to Kollywood,” assures Ramya.
