Amid rumours that superstar Rajinikanth’s life is about to be made into a Hindi film with Salman Khan slated to play Rajini in the film, the star’s family has vehemently opposed any such efforts. Rajini’s family has said that it didn’t give permission to any group or individual to make a film the country’s most saleable superstar.
Bollywood’s Atul Agnihotri had earlier said that he wants to make a film on Rajinikanth which would include his childhood days, his days as a bus conductor in Bangalore, his entry in Tamil films and his dramatic take-over of the Tamil film industry as its ‘No.1 star’. Critics are apprehensive that though Salman Khan is a competent actor, he may not be upto the mark in bringing on screen the persona of Rajini.
Actor Prasanna has openly said that Salman Khan won’t be the right choice to play Rajini. It’s hard to imagine somebody else in Rajini’s role. “Utmost, a documentary can be made. Permission shouldn’t be given to make a biopic on the superstar,” Prasanna has said. S.Ve. Shekhar, comedian-turned-politician and one of Rajini’s friends has said that he didn’t think Rajini would accord permission to make the biopic.
Soundarya, younger daughter of superstar Rajinikanth, has said that her family didn’t give any permission to any producer and said that Atul didn’t show any script to them. “Even if he hands us over the script, we are not in a position to accord permission to make a film on Rajini. In fact, we are trying ourselves to make one such film,” said Soundarya.
