For the past few years, superstar Rajinikanth has said on more than one occasion that he would love to work in a film directed by director Dharani. The director, who has given hit films such as Dil, Dhool and Ghilli, slipped with his Kuruvi which had Vijay and Trisha in the lead.
As such, Dharani is looking forward with optimism for the release of his latest directorial venture Osthe which releases next week. The film, which has Simbu and Richa in the lead roles, is the remake of the Bollywood hit film Dabbangg which had Salman Khan and debutant Sonakshi Sinha essaying the lead roles. The film has Simbu playing a cop’s role for the first time in his career.
When Dharnai visited the superstar’s house along with K.S. Ravikumar, Rajini had told him that though he wanted to do a ‘thrilling action film’ with Dharani, for some reason or the other, the project has been getting delayed for a long time now. Dharani was quick to use the opportunity when he replied that he was always available for superstar. He said that he needed to be told only once to get ready to direct the superstar.
Dharani reportedly sent the audio CD and trailer of his upcoming film Osthe to the superstar through Ravikumar who frequently meets the star in connection with his forthcoming film. After watching, Rajini reportedly told Ravikumar that the film appeared very ‘nice’ with all the entertainment elements mixed in the right measure. Rajini has the habit of showering praise on someone if he liked their work.
Dharani’s spirits are quite high after Rajini’s appreciation of the trailer. “I’m extremely delighted now that the superstar has liked the trailer,” he has been telling everyone who meets him.
