It was only on Friday that the Superstar’s wife Latha Rajnikanth trashed reports of his deteriorating health as ‘rumours’ (Read more…). However, Rajnikanth was admitted to the Sri Ramachandra Medical Centre, Porur, on the same day night for what hospital sources described as a detailed health check up. Medical tests were scheduled for the entire day on Saturday.
This is the third time the actor has been admitted into a hospital in the last fortnight.
On the first day of the shoot for his upcoming movie Rana(April 29), Rajnikanth was admitted to St. Isabel Hospital, Mylapore, and was treated for dehydration and exhaustion. He was discharged the same day and doctors said he was stable.
On May 4, he was re-admitted to the hospital when he complained of breathlessness and fever.
On May 13(Friday), “Rajinikanth dead” was one of the top Twitter trends Friday afternoon, all because of a false rumour circulating about superstar’s death. “Rajinikanth death” and “rajinikanth died” were also the top two most searched for keywords on Google India.
Although later, Dismissing reports about his failing health as rumours, Latha Rajinikanth said he was fine and had to take some rest following his recent hospitalisation.
The actor had been admitted in Ramachandra Medical Centre, only for tests and not for treatment purposes, hospital sources said.
