Superstar Rajinikanth’s fans have some great news coming up about their matinee idol. Rajini, the indisputable superstar of the country, has a large number of fan-following than any other star and has been the ‘numero uno’ in Kollywood for more than the past three decades. He fell ill in April last year and then had to be admitted to a leading Singapore Hospital to get treated for his kidney disorder and returned to Chennai in the second week of July.
Ever since his return, the star’s fans had been itching to watch him in action. The shooting of Rana, which was launched on the day when Rajini fell ill (29th April), is yet to re-start. In the meanwhile, Rajini’s younger daughter Soundarya announced last month that she would be directing her father in a film titled Kochadaiyan which is to be filmed using the ‘motion capturing’ technology.
It is now informed that Rajini is likely to start the shooting schedule of his Kochadaiyaan from Thursday, the 19th January onwards. The muhurat will be held at Rajini’s favourite spot at the Pillaiyar Koil inside the AVM studio premises in the city. The film, which would be made in the animation format, would feature Bollywood hottie Katrina Kaif opposite the superstar, marking the former’s debut in Tamil films as heroine.
Sneha is likely to play Rajini’s sister in the film, it is learnt. As stated earlier, the film is directed by Soundarya Ashwin who would also be doubling up as the producer of the film. A.R. Rahman would be scoring the music while director K.S. Ravikumar would be penning the story, screenplay and dialogues besides supervising Soundarya’s direction.
Rumour has it that Aadhi, w hose Aravaan might hit the screens soon, would be seen in the film in an important role. Prithviraj, the popular Malayalam hero who has done many Tamil films, is also to be roped in to play a significant role.
Let’s wish Rajini all the good luck he rich and truly deserves in this period flick!
