Soundarya Rajinikanth has made the much-needed announcement addressed to the fans of her father and superstar Rajinikanth. The youngest daughter of the ‘Man of the masses’ has said that Rajini has recovered ‘well enough’ to start shooting for his upcoming film Rana in the near future.
Rajini has been resting for more than 100 days now ever since his return to Chennai on the night of 13th July. Rajini had gone to Singapore’s Mount Elizabeth Hospital in the last week of May for the treatment of his kidneys and returned in July. There have been conflicting news emanating from the press about the possible date of re-starting the shooting of Rana.
Rajini fell ill on the same day when Rana was launched on April 29th. When he returned in July, it was said that he would take part in the shooting of the film from the first week of October; later, it was said that the fresh date of the start of film’s shooting schedule would be announced in December. Rajini plays triples roles in the film set in a historic backdrop. Bollywood’s Deepika Padukone has already been signed up as one of his heroines in the film.
Amid rumours in some sections of the press that Rana may be abandoned for now, Soundarya (who is also one of the producers of Rana) has said “Rajini has become fully fit and is raring to get into ‘action’ mode. He has told us to start the shooting schedule as per our wish. The director and the producers decided to wait for some time to let him slip into his routine of attending public events.
“Now that Rajini has given the nod to go ahead, he would soon be making a formal announcement in this regard after consulting with K.S. Ravikumar,” says Soundarya.
Won’t this make Rajini’s fans jump in the air with joy?
