Mani Ratnams art director from Raavanan and Guru is no more

Art Director Samir Chanda’s loss will leave an empty hole in not just the Kollywood fraternity but also in the entire Bollywood industry. A man with a great eye for detail Samir Chanda breathed his last yesterday night, after suffering from a cardiac arrest. Close friends revealed that Samir was under depression for some while and there were some family matters to be resolved, owing to his untimely departure.

A much sought-after technician he had collaborated with veteran director Mani Ratnam in ‘Dil Se’, ‘Guru’ and the very recent Vikram-Aishwarya starrer ‘Raavanan’ presenting fans with some wonderful and unforgettable work. His Bollywood portfolio was equally impressive with some big hits in ‘Rang De Basanti,’ ‘Saath Khoon Maaf’ and ‘Omkara’. He was presently engaged with another Bollywood project titled ‘Joker’ co-stars members expressed their grief on hearing the news.

We pray for Samir’s family to have the strength and will to undergo this big loss.
