Director Priyardarshan has been a popular name in Bollywood for some years now. It was Priyadarshan who was instrumental in actress Trisha’s debut in Tamil films as he had picked her to play the lead role in his Lesa Lesa opposite Madhavan and Shaam almost a decade back. In 2010, he again directed Trisha in her debut Hindi film Khatta Meetha which bombed miserably at the box-office.
Priyadarshan would now be helping the Hindi version of Poraali which has done very well in Tamil. The film starred Sasikumar in the lead and was directed by his friend and film-maker Samuthirakkani. It was appreciated by critics and movie-goers for the treatment of the subject by Samuthirakkani; Sasikumar’s ‘action avatar’ too came in for special praise from many.
Samuthirakkani would be directing the film’s Hindi version as well, which hasn’t yet been named. Priyaradshan is presently busy with the Hindi remake of Nadodigal, which did very well a few years back. Nadodigal too starred Sasikumar in the lead and was directed by Samuthirakkani. After Priyadarshan complets this film, he would then assist Samu in the Hindi remake of Poraali.
Priyadarshan, who recently watched Poraali, was said to have been highly impressed with Samuthirakkani’s film-making skills and reportedly expressed his opinion that the film would come out very well if it’s remade in Hindi. Priyan also said that Samu would be directing the Hindi version while he would be rendering all kinds of assistance to Samu who would be debuting in Hindi as director.
The hunt for suitable actors and actresses to star in the Hindi version is on.
