Actress Priya Anand is all set to storm Bollywood with a heroine-oriented role in noted director Balki a.k.a. Balakrishnan’s upcoming film. Balki enjoys a reputation as a film-maker of substance after making films like Cheeni Kum and Paa. The slimly-built actress was counting a lot on her last Kollywood film Nootrenbadhu which didn’t scorch the box-office despite its treatment and good performance by the lead actors.
Besides Priya, Siddharth and Nithya Menon were the other major stars in the film Nootrenbadhu. Siddharth’s comeback attempt in Tamil failed miserably thanks to the no-show of the film, made reasonably well by debutant director Jayendra. Even as Priya is awaiting her next Tamil film to happen, she is secretly entering another domain to keep her engaged and to stay in the public memory.
Young and stylish-looking, Priya has revealed more than once in the past about her upbringing in major cities in U.S. under parental care. Thankfully, the role of an Indian girl residing in the U.S., which she would be essaying in her debut film in Hindi, is almost similar to the one she played with aplomb in 180. The shooting of the film had started some time back and is said to be proceeding briskly.
It is also stated that the role Priya has taken on for her debut venture in Hindi is a role which offers her lot of scope for her to display her acting credentials.
Let’s wish her good luck in her new endeavour!
