Actress Oviya had a successful debut as heroine in last year’s super-hit ‘Kalavaani’ opposite Vimal. The film, produced by Nazir and directed by debutant Sargunam, won admirable reviews from the print and television media besides courting success at the box-office.
Oviya’s second film was a brief affair in a miniscule role in the Kamal Haasan-Trisha starrer ‘Manmadhan Ambu’ which released at the fag end of last year. Oviya cried foul after the film released saying that the original script narrated to her didn’t show her in such an insignificant role. That the film didn’t light up the box-office had little effect on Oviya’s career.
Now the young lady is debuting in Kannada with ‘Kirathaga’, a remake of her own Tamil hit Kalavaani. The film’s shooting is almost for but form some patch-work and the post-production work including mixing of sound and music. Oviya would also be starring in the soon-to-be launched Telugu remake of ‘Kalavaani’ as well.
She says she didn’t feel ‘bored’ to replay the same role in three languages and instead used the opportunity to improvise each time.
Good luck Oviya
