Even though critics have thrashed off PT Selvakumar’s Onbadhula Guru as merely a slapstick comedy, it looks like there is still a place for mindless entertainers among selected few. Featuring Vinay, Lakshmi Rai, Premgi Amaren, Aravind Akash and Sathyan the only entertaining part of the movie seemed to be the tune Vaa Machi Va by composer K.
Despite being the most illogical offerings of recent times, producers Cosmo & Boss recorded 42,81,466 (42.81 lakhs) from the thirty eight centers in Chengalpet and a collection of Rs. 31,98,361 (31.98 lakhs) from thirteen centers in Chennai.
However, the interesting fact is, with every day passing by the collections have gradually shown a rise. Looking forward, it is clear, the glory run will be cut short soon in the coming days as some of the most awaited releases of the year are geared up for showtime this Friday – March 15th.
There is much relief to lovers of quality movies as Bala’s Paradesi will hit the silver screens on Friday. It is suspected by industry insiders that the release is solely capable of wiping out the crass entertainer’s run at BO. Moreover, AR Murugadoss and Fox Studio’s joint production Vathikuchi will also be a strong contender in the race.
