The 3rd edition of Norway Tamil Film Festival and awards ceremony got off to a fabulous start in the Norwegian capital of Oslo. The festival has been arranged by Vaseegaran based in Norway. The festival would be a week-long affair and would come to an end on 29th April. Kollywood star Richa Gangopadhyaya, directors Sargunam and Gaurav, documentary film-maker Subash Kaliyan, actor Vishal and music director Sundar C. Babu have already left for Norway to take part in the Festival.
As many as 10 Tamil films would be screened at the Ringen Auditorium for the benefit of the local populace for 5 days from 24-28 April. The tickets for the above screenings can be booked through the website www.filmweb.no. Short films, numbering 20, would also be screened on 25th and 26th April, for which entry is free.
The concluding day’s ceremony would be held on 29th April and a grand music fest has been organized on that day. Popular playback singers Charulata Mani, Srimadhumita, Vijitha Suresh and Prabha Balakrishnan besides Norway-based singers like Sandhya, Malvi, Sivaganesan and others would be crooning popular numbers along with the music troupe Yasi Stars.
The Norway Film Festival is probably the only Festival on a global level which is wholly dedicated to Tamil films and documentaries. Awards in various categories would also be given away on the concluding day. Vaseegaran and his associates have been making all the necessary arrangements for the show.
