The early trends indicate that actor Jeeva’s latest film ‘Ko’ might go on to become one of the biggest hits in his career. The film, which has debutant Karthika Nair as the heroine, stars Ajmal and Piaa Bajpai in significant roles and has been directed by K.V. Anand. For the burly cinematographer-turned-director, this would be a hat-trick of hits after ‘Kanaa Kandein’ and ‘Ayan’.
In an informal interaction with presspersons, Jiiva has said that he felt that there was absolutely ‘no harm’ in actors increasing their fees after delivering hit film(s). “It (the increase) is the just reward for all the hardwork they put in,” opines Jeeva. He likened it to cricketers getting more commercial endorsement offers after their successful outing in Test/ODIs and T20 matches.
Jeeva, who plays a photo-journalist in the film, says that Karthika has done a ‘terrific’ job as a journalist in the film. The film depicts in detail as to how the field of journalism succeeds in changing a country’s political landscape for the better, he said. “I’m sure the film would be well-received by the public and I also hope that journalists would henceforth get more respect from the public,” said Jiiva.
He revealed that his next project would be ‘Rowthiram’ opposite the sizzling Shriya Saran. ‘Rowthiram’ is directed by Kannan who has made films like ‘Jayamkondan’ and ‘Kandein Kadhalai’. He welcomed the trend of multi-starrers in Tamil films and said that the young crop of actors are more than willing to star in films which has their seniors in prominent roles.
