In a hat trick of sorts, the winning duo of Dhanush and director Vetrimaaran are coming together for a third time. Entering with Polladhavan and sweeping the National awards with their Aadukulam effort later on, their third release is tentatively titled Vengai Sami. Director Vetrimaaran has decided to put Simbu’s Vada Chennai on the back burner, and start afresh with the Dhanush project.
Dhayanidhi Alagiri chief of Cloud Nine Banner and producer for both the flicks confirmed the news saying, “Due to unavoidable reasons we are postponing the shoot of Vada Chennai. In the meantime, Cloud Nine Movies joins with the magic combo of Vetrimaaran and Dhanush… Hoping to produce another awesome movie…” It is strongly felt that Simbu’s US trip for his Love Anthem, did play a major setback for Vada Chennai’s initiation. Neverthless, he has managed to hang on for the lead spot for the same. Director Vetrimaaran himself confirmed, “Simbu is still the hero of the film, and I’ll start work on the project as soon as I complete my film with Dhanush.” The Vetri-Dhanush movie Vengai Sami will be set in the interior forest areas as the director disclosed, “the film is not set in Chennai.” Loaded with projects in Bollywood and Kollywood, hero Dhanush announced excitedly, “Very thrilled to be on Vetri Maaran’s next project under Cloud Nine movies. Vetri is currently working on the script. Can’t wait to hear! Its gonna be Mariyaan,Ranjhana and then Vetri‘s :)” Vengai Sami will also have Vetrimaaran’s regulars including composer G V Prakash, Velraj and Kishore, as part of the project. You bet, this is going to be another award-winning performance, by the duo.
