Nayantara: Thankfully, I’m out of a major crisis

Nayantara happy about leaving Prabhudeva

Nayantara has finally opened up to express her views about the many rumours and news items floating about her appearing in the print media and doing circulation in Kollywood for the past few days. The actress has been the talk of the town ever since reports surfaced in the media late last week that she has ‘reversed’ her decision of marrying Prabhu Deva and has instead decided to concentrate more on her career.

In order to marry Prabhu Deva, Nayan went on to embrace Hinduism. Born as Diana Mariam Kurian and who became Nayantara when she entered films, Nayan got her name converted as ‘Nayantara’ after she became a Hindu formally. Despite being a top actress in both Tamil and Telugu films, she announced last year that she was quitting the industry in order to marry Prabhu and settle down in matrimony.

“I had been in the middle of a great crisis for the past few months; thankfully, by the grace of the Almighty, I’m out of it now,” says the actress, clearly referring to her on-again-off-again relationship with Prabhu Deva. Several reasons are cited for the break-up of the much-talked about couple in recent times, one of them being Prabhudeva’s reported proximity to actress Hansika.

Neither Prabhu nor Nayan formally said anything about the break-up. It’s in this context that Nayan has opened up. “I had taken a hiatus from films and it was also true that I was going through a personal crisis. I’m happy that I’m out of it now. From now onwards, my entire concentration would be devoted to improve my career as an actress and take it forward in both Tamil and Telugu.

“I have signed up a Telugu film opposite Nagarjuna which is a romantic story. I’m aware that the Tamil film industry has made me a big star and given me my present star-status. I shall continue to do more films in these two languages,” concludes Nayan.
