Actor Vishnu’s next in Neer Parvai did have some initial hiccups before things got rollling. With the hero himself falling back, due to his CCL injury, things had to be put on hold for a while. Making a return to the sets, his director Seenu resumed the shoots by bringing in a new female lead for the film.
It was Kazhugu actress Bindu Madhavi, the first choice, giving way to Sunaina for the lead role opposite Vishnu. Now we hear a well-known face in Nandita Das will join the shoots in the coming days. Nandita who was seen playing the memorable Shyama in Mani Ratnam’s Kannathil Muthamittal, landed the offer recently. “We needed an actress of substance so we though Nandita would be the right choice”, opined the director. Many will recall that her Mani Ratnam flick too had the theme of Sri Lankan Civil War. Likely, Neer Parvai will focus on the plight of fishermen and the sad state of affairs, on the treacherous coasts. Nandita who had noteworthy performances in Vishwa Thulasi and Azhagi, has given a positive nod for Neer Parvai. Director Seenu is excited to have her onboard as he was least expecting the same. “Nandita will join us for a 10 day shooting schedule in the coming month i.e May”, confirms the director.
