Actress Nalini is busy as a bee with her acting assignments on various television serials on small-screen. The actress, who was introduced into films by Vijaya T. Rajendhar in the early eighties in Uyirullavarai Usha and had a successful stint as a frontline heroine for close to a decade, has been in demand for playing ‘negative’ roles on the small screen for the past few years.
Nalini, who separated from her actor husband Ramarajan a few years back, has of late shown a noticeable tilt towards devotion and religious activities. On the eve of Chitra Pournami on Sunday, Nalini took part in the celebrations at the Navalur Ezhilarasi Kamatchiyamman Temple at Talaivasal near Salem and carried ‘milk’ on her head apparently to fulfill a religious vow.
Speaking to newspersons on the occasion, Nalini said that she has had a satisfying career in films having starred in 128 films (as on date) including Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam films. “I have starred with the likes of superstar Rajnikanth and (late) Sivaji Ganesan. Even now, I have around 6 films on my hands besides the many tele-serials.
“I’m extremely thankful to Tamil viewers for their continued patronage. Though Ramarajan is into politics, I don’t have much interest in it and am pursuing a religious path for my self-satisfaction,” said Nalini and then went on to carry a vessel filled with milk and went around the holy temple.
