A couple of days ago, Kollywood was abuzz with rumours based on some reports that actor Jai is all set to play Vijay’s younger brother in the latter’s upcoming film Thuppakki directed by high-profile director A.R. Murugadoss. Murugadoss, who has an enviable hundred percentage of hit films to his credit, is presently making Thuppakki which has Vijay and Kajal Aggarwal in the lead.
Murugu (let’s keep it that way) has, however, denied news reports which claimed that Jai plays Vijay’s brother in the film. “I don’t know where from these stories emanate; as a matter of fact, Jai was never in the reckoning to play Vijay’s younger brother in the film,” says Murug. Jai started his career a few years back by playing Vijay’s brother in the dud Bagawathy.
To many, Jai appears to be Vijay’s real-life brother in view of the resemblance he bears to the actor. Some reports even said that it was Jai who confirmed that he was indeed playing Jai’s brother. Murugu’s denial is significant in the backdrop of these reports.
Elaborating further, Murugu added that “As per the script, Vijay doesn’t have any brother at all.. hence, the question of Jai or any other actor playing the role is simply out of the question!”
