Actor Mansoor Alikhan always does something different during the election time that would garner attention. Earlier on April 2009, Mansoor had joined T Rajendar’s Latchiya DMK claiming that he would provide support for Srilankan Tamils. Now the actor has announced that he would be contesting the assembly elections Scheduled on April 13, 2011 as an Independent. Following the elections, he will be launching his own political party ‘Tamil Perarasu’, told by Mansoor.
Says Mansoor, “In the current political scenario, all political parties are concentrating only on making alliances with leading parties and seat-sharing talks. They don’t even think about the wellfare of people. They will not take care of people’s needs. I feel very bad on seeing these activities. That’s why I decided to contest as an Independent. I had contested earlier in Parliament elections on 1999 in Periyakulam constituency and then in Trichy Parliament elections again. Both the times, I got good amount of votes.(?!!!)”
“However I haven’t decided the constituency of my choice from where I would contest for the elections. I will announce it in one or two days maybe”.
“Other State personalities (Vijayakanth, Vaiko, Jayalalitha) are very powerful in TamilNadu. To help Tamils I have decided to form my own political party ‘Tamil Perarasu”, he concludes.
