Fans of actress Anjali and actor Jai would have to wait for two more weeks to see them sizzle as on-screen pair in the upcoming film ‘Engeyum Eppodhum’ directed by debutant director Saravanan and produced by director A.R. Murugadoss in association with the Hollywood production house Fox Star Studios.
The film, which has Tollywood’s Sharvanand and Ananya (‘Nadodigal’ fame) as the other lead pair, was to hit the screens on 1st September. It is now informed that the release of the film has been postponed by a fortnight and that the film would be hitting the screens only on 16th September.
Saravanan, a Murugadoss aide, has been given an opportunity by his mentor to show his credentials as a director in the film. The film, said to be a breezy romantic entertainer, has Chennai and Tiruchy as the backdrop of its script. The release of the film is awaited with huge expectation as it’s for the first time that Fox Star is venturing into Kollywood to produce a Tamil film.
For purely sentimental reasons, the makers were planning to release the film on Thursday (1st September) on the eve of ‘Ganesh Chaturthi’. However, it was felt that the film’s opening might get ‘affected’ by the release of actor Ajith’s ‘Mankatha’ the previous day. It has now been decided to release the film on 16th.
