Mani Ratnam, one of Kollywood’s favorite directors, is coming out with a new flick that is untitled as of now. The Director is busy locking in the cast for his film with the technical crew almost in place. Now we hear that Mani’s very own golden boy Arvind Swamy is making an entry for this project.
Arvind became a hot favorite with some milestone hits including Thalapathi, Bombay and who can forget Roja, all being under the successful direction of Mani himself. Sources report that his character in Mani’s new flick is that of a father. The actor who was in news as part of Vishal’s Samaran did disappoint his fans earlier, but now that he is making a return through his mentor’s film things looks even better. The director is also in the lookout for a comedian for the flick and there are unconfirmed reports of Mynaa actor Thambi Ramaiah to take responsibility. It might be recalled that the actor won the National Award for Best Supporting Actor for his performance. Mani’s new film stars Gautham (son of yesteryear hero Karthik) and actress Samantha Ruth Prabhu playing the lead pair. Actors Pasupathy and Arjun have been roped in, the latter playing a negative character in the film. Tollywood actress/ producer Lakshmi Manchu too, has confirmed her participation in the project. Themed around the fishermen in Rameswaram, this new Mani Ratnam offering will have Rajiv Menon behind the camera, Vairamuthu penning the lyrics and Isai Puyal Ar Rahman doing the musical honors.
Let’s get this rolling people!!!
