Rumours were afloat that Mamta Mohandas was suffering from neuroblastoma (cancer which affects the nerves)! But the actress later clarified that it was Hodgkins Lymphoma, a type of lymph node cancer!

She said, ” No.. aint nerve related. It was HODGKINS Lymphoma. Fancy name huh? “.

Glam girl, actor, singer that’s how we know Mamta Mohandas. After completing her schooling in Bahrain where she was born the actress headed towards India. She paved her way through a modeling carrier doing print ads for companies which included IBM and Kalyan Kendra .The pretty actress has also modeled for Raymonds and Mysore Maharajah.An ‘all in all’ she also credits herself trained in both Hindustani and Carnatic music.

We caught up with the actress and bring to you her latest developments:

Anwar proved out to be a hit for Malayalam cinema which saw the actress play a memorable role not only as actress but also a singer.

Anwar came as a rebirth for the actress “change in look and a modern, edgy character. It also gave me a break as a singer.In another film, Mohabbath, I’m singing a classical song and making a special appearance with Hariharan.”

The actress recently shot for the cover of JFW (Just For Women) magazine in which she looked truly stunning in an all new avatar. On further inquiry she reveals,

“It makes me feel reborn. I’m sporting this new look as I’m a cancer survivor.” The actress reminded us that she used wigs in Anwar (a Malayalam film) which many din’t notice.

We know the strong person Mamta is as we inquired her reason for being positive in life after confronting the fact she had to undergo diagnosis.

“The tough part is over; now I have to fight it. For chemotherapy and radiation, I had to cut my hair.” The actress recently visited New York, she got a tattoo on her upper arm that says Om Sri Ganeshaya Nama’, which she affirmed “indicates I’m positive about life.”

Her birthday clashes on Children’s date i.e. 14 November and seems she has planned something special for this  day.

“I’m doing a charity dream flight accompanying 430 underprivileged children who’ve never flown in a plane.” She also revealed that her cake will be cut on the same flight with these children ,celebrating the day in it’s true sense.
