Unfortunate it might turn out to be but the highly appreciated and critically acclaimed Malayalam film Aadaminte Makan Abu is now out of the race for winning the coveted Oscar award, winning which remains the dream of every single actor, actress and technician all over the world.
The annual Oscar awards, considered as pinnacle of all the awards in the entertainment industry, are to be announced on 26th January at a grand event to be held Los Angeles in U.S. Many films all over the world are competing under various categories for the most-loved awards.
As many as nine Indian films including superstar Rajinikanth’s Enthiran: The Robot were recommended for nomination for consideration of Oscar awards. However, only the Malayalam film Aadaminte Makan Abu was selected as the country’s lone entry at the Oscars. Directed by Salim Ahamed, the film has won many honours at the local level including the national award for ‘best film’.
Just when many thought that the film might win the qualifying rounds and enter the final round for consideration in the category of ‘best foreign language film’, it is reported that the film is out of the Oscar race. Films from countries such as Italy, Denmark, Iran, Canada, Israel, Morocco, Belgium, Poland and Taiwan have made it to the final round but not Aadaminte Makan Abu.
