Madhavan regrets for not being part of Nanban

After the super-hit Hindi film ‘Tanu Weds Manu’ opposite the hot Kangana Ranaut, Madhavan has quietly slipped into Kollywood and has started shooting for director Lingusamy’s upcoming film ‘Vettai’ in which Arya would be his co-star.

Readers might recall that it was Lingusamy’s ‘Run’, which released a few years ago, gave the chocolate-boy faced Madhavan the image of an ‘action hero’.

The actor finds it very easy to juggle his careers in Kollywood and Bollywood, something which not many actors/actresses are able to do successfully. The actor is particularly happy that ‘Tanu…’ has managed to do so well vis-à-vis box-office collections even at the ‘B’ and ‘C’ centres. This has given us confidence that audience would lap up good product at all the centres, he says.

Maddy, as he is fondly referred to, refuses to divulge details of the character he has been roped into play in Lingusamy’s film. “I have little to fear as I’m quite familiar with Lingusamy’s working style. In fact, both Lingusamy and Aarya are among my close circle of friends and I hope to have a jolly outing during the shooting,” laughs Madhavan.

Madhavan is delighted about the statistics that his last three Hindi films have become super-duper hits, a feat not managed by many heroes in Bollywood. “The success quotient has made me more responsible and accountable to my audience who tend to expect quality-stuff from me,” says Maddy who regrets not being part of the Tamil version of ‘3 Idiots’ as in his opinion, director Shankar is one of the few ‘visionary film-makers’ in the country!
