Actor Madhavan’s last couple of films has derailed him. The actor’s films ‘Guru Enn Aalu’ opposite Mamta Mohandoss and ‘Manmathan Ambu’ opposite Trisha bit the dust at the box-office. While ‘Guru…’ was the remake of the Bollywood super-hit ‘Yes Boss’ and was expected to do well, ‘Manmathan…’ was directed by K.S. Ravikumar, who has a higher percentage of hit films to his credit.
In his comeback film ‘Vettai’ directed by Lingusamy, Madhavan plays a honest police officer. He is also the elder brother of Arya in the film. While the sizzling Sameera Reddy is paired opposite Madhavan, Aarya has Amala Paul as his heroine. Readers might recall that it was Lingusamy who gave Madhavan the image of an action hero in his ‘Run’ many years back.
Madhavan’s character in the film is named Thirumoorthi, a man of principles. The cop wants to serve the department and the society with utmost sincerity. However, the turn of events that take place in the script places acid test for him to continue in his way, sources say.
Arya plays a carefree younger brother who later takes on an action avatar. Sameera Reddy plays Madhavan’s wife and Amala Paul plays her sister. “Arya falls in love with Amala at the very first sight and their romance scenes will be the highlight of the movie. “‘Vettai’ is taking shape fast and would hit the screens soon.
