Lyricist Viveka has penned the popular song En Frienda Pola Yaaru Machchaan from director Shankar’s latest film Nanban. The film, starring Vijay, Jiiva and Srikanth and having music by Harris Jayaraj, has found a receptive audience and looks all set to become a super-hit film at the box-office.
Viveka has the distinction of having penned the most number of hit songs in the year 2011 and hopes to continue in the same manner. Thanks to his effort in Nanban, he is now getting many offers to write for upcoming films. An excited Viveka says, “One need to become matured physically and mentally to say and discuss about love and its effects. Friendship, however, has no such limits and can occur between any age groups.
“It’s probably due to this fact that the song, which speaks about friendship, has become such a huge hit. The song has caught up with the youths in a big way and has been doing rounds in the form of caller-tunes, ring-tones and is even used for advertising certain commercial products. I remain thankful to director Shankar and music director Harris Jayaraj for giving me the opportunity to pen this song in the film.
“It has almost become the new ‘national anthem’ among friends in schools and colleges,” says a proud-looking Viveka. When asked by the scribes as to what he thought, as a lyricist, about actor Dhanush’s hugely popular Why this Kolaveri song, Viveka shot back saying that he had nothing to do with the song and therefore won’t comment about the song (why to court trouble unnecessarily?).
He informs that he has many films on hand for which he is expected to write lyrics. Some of them are major projects like Suriya’s Maatraan, Karthi’s Saguni, Vasanthabalan’s Aravaan and ‘Jayam’ Ravi’s Boologam.
