Director Lingusamy is all set to wrap up his upcoming directorial venture Vettai, a multi-starrer which has Madhavan, Aarya, Sameera Reddy and Amala Paul in the cast. The film is also produced by Lingusamy, who is also producing another film simultaneously.
The film is Kumki which is being directed by Prabhu Solomon. This is Solomon’s first venture after making the critically-acclaimed commercial success Mynaa last year. Mynaa not only turned out to be a super-hit but also served as the ladder for its heroine Amala Paul who has one become one of the busiest heroines in Kollywood. She has many plum projects on hand opposite leading heroes.
Gumki has Vikram Prabhu, son of actor Prabhu and grandson of the legendary Sivaji Ganesan, debuting as hero in Kollywood. Vikram plays a mahout in the film and as per the demands of his role, underwent a grinding training schedule to master the art of managing elephants. The film is said to be a tale of the deep bond of friendship which prevails between a mahout and the elephant that is so carefully brought up by him.
Talking about Vikram’s debut, Lingusamy says that “Vikram possess all the talents required to become a successful actor in the industry. It’s not surprising that acting appears to be in his blood as he’s the grandson of the great Sivaji Ganesan and son of Prabhu. I’m sure he has done a pretty good job in the film and would reap the benefits of the hardwork he has put in while starring in the film,” concludes Lingusamy.
