Passion for films makes people do many things which they wouldn’t even attempt doing otherwise. The will and unrelenting determination to make it big in films have made many give up their lucrative careers in other professions. Not all of them manage to court the kind of success they visualize prior to entering Kollywood. One such attempt has been made by the director of an upcoming film.

Nandanam is the name of an upcoming film produced at a huge budget by S. Thangaraj on behalf of his production house, Subha Creations. The film has Sivaji Dev and Mithra playing lead roles in it. The film is directed by N.C. Shyamalan, who debuts in Kollywood as director with this film. Shyamalan was working as a lecturer with a private college and it’s his passion for films which made him give up his job a few years back and pursue his childhood dreams.

Shyamalan had earlier worked as an assistant director with directors R. Balu and A. Venkatesh. Others in the cast include Jegan, A.L. Azhagappan and Jenny Angel. Sivaraj is the art director while Mohan has cinematographed the film. V.T. Vijayan is the editor, Gopi Sundar is the music director who has composed songs to lyrics penned by Vivega and Shyamalan himself.

‘Fire’ Karthick is the stunt choreographer while the duo of Pradeep-Vimal are the dance choreographers.

Queried as to what the viewers had in store in his debut vehicle, Shyamalan says, “Nandanam means ‘Park’ in English. Love is also an ageless park which leaves a lasting impression in one’s mind. The film deals with the incidents happening in a week in the lives of two IT professionals. The romance brewing between them has been narrated in a gripping manner. Besides this, the film has many aspects which we come across in our routine but don’t pay much attention to them,” concludes Shyamalan.
