A new pair of Hemachandran and Nandana is getting introduced as the lead pair in an upcoming film titled ‘Krishnaveni Panjaalai’. Others in the cast include Ajayan Bala, Shanmugaraja and Balasinh. The film is directed by Dhanapal Padmanabhan who would also be penning story, screenplay and dialogues of the film.
Says Dhanapal: “The film would chronicle the lives and times of the Mill workers of Coimbatore-Udumalpet region in the period from the late fifties to the nineties. The suffering of these workers forms the crux of the script. An emotional love story awaits the viewers in the backdrop of the textile mills. I found the lives of these workers to be pretty interesting.”
“Their lunch time chatting, meetings of the Union held near the gates of the Mills, their habit of going on pleasure-trip as groups consisting many families and the camaraderie that existed between the workers and their families have been narrated in an interesting manner. Their busy lifestyles can be compared to the busy schedules of today’s software professionals.
“My film is an earnest and practical attempt to record the pleasures and pains of the lives of the thousands of workers who depended solely on weaving for earning their livelihood,” says Dhanapal, whose film would have music by Rahunandan and lyrics penned by veteran lyricist Vairamuthu.
