Kollywood celebs react to Tsunami warnings

Bringing back memories of the December 2004 tsunami, northern Indonesia felt the tremors once again yesterday. The residents close to the coast felt their prayers answered this time, as there was no damage to life and property recorded. The 8.6 magnitude undersea earthquake striking the north Sumatra had Radio stations, cable channels and even mobile phones spreading alerts, with many Kollywood celebs sharing their experiences.

Actor Jiiva called out to his fans saying, “Who felt the tremor!? I thought I had low BP.” Simbu seemed to be in a joyful mood amidst disaster warnings, “Vtv ganesh saar is saying let’s go to the beach and watch tsunami LOL … And I said great idea you please go there I’m on my way … ROTFL.”  Kadal actor Arvind Swamy said that he was in his office when the buildings shook and everyone was out in the streets in seconds. Others including Aishwarya Dhanush and Shruti Hassan were concerned, hoping everyone was safe and fine. The Indian Tsunami Early Warning System, did sent out alerts for the Nicobar islands, prompting evacuation of people from the islands. The quakes were felt in Chennai and Kolkata too. Many breathed a sigh of relief later, as the warnings were withdrawn stating no danger.
