The crew of superstar Rajinikanth’s upcoming film Kochadaiyaan would be traveling to ‘God’s Own Country’ next week for the second schedule of the film’s shoot. Billed as a first-of-its-kind animation film in the country to be canned using the ‘motion capture technology’ like Hollywood’s Avatar, Rajini’s Kochadaiyaan has grown beyond being a ‘mere animation’ film and has come to be treated by the press as a ‘usual’ Rajini film.
The crew including debutant director and Rajini’s younger daughter Soundarya Ashwin, music director A.R. Rahman, Sarath Kumar, Aadhi, Jackie Shroff, heroine Deepika Padukone, Nasser and Shobana besides Rajini himself was in London some time back to shoot for the first schedule of the film. While Rajini returned to Chennai early this week, the crew has returned just now.
After completing a fortnight-long shooting schedule in London, the crew has reportedly zeroed in on the places to shoot in neighbouring Kerala, which is full of picturesque locales. Huge sets are likely to be ereceted to shoot for the film, which has its story, screenplay and dialogues penned by K.S. Ravikumar who would also be ‘supervising’ the direction duties of Soundarya.
Rajini, Sarath Kumar and Deepika Padukone are expected to take part in the second schedule of the film’s shoot in the palace-like sets specially erected for the shoot of the film. Ravikumar, whose daughter is to get married in Chennai soon, would be taking part in the second schedule’s shoot after his daughter’s marriage is over. The film has as many as five songs out of which Rahman has already composed four songs.
