Cinematographer-turned-director K.V. Anand‘s latest offering ‘Ko’ continues to rock at the box-office. The film, produced by R.S. Infotainment and distributed by Udhayanidhi’s Red Giant Movies, has been running to packed houses for the past 50 days and continues to set the cash registers ringing in cinema halls across the State.
In fact, contrary to expectations, the movie has even bettered the collections of Anand’s previous film ‘Ayan’ which starred Suriya and Tamannaah in the lead. Usually, there would be a lull in theatres after a film completes 50-days but in the case of ‘Ko’, the interest among the movie-goers and the public to watch it repeatedly doesn’t appear to have waned.
‘Ko’ has Jiiva, newcomer Karthika, Ajmal, Piyaa Bajpai, Prakashraj, Jagan and Kota Srinivasa Rao playing major roles and is ably supported by enchanting music by Harris Jayaraj. Shunning camera for now, Anand has penned the story and screenplay besides directing the film.
Trade circles point out that the film is doing rousing business in Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Karnataka and on the overseas circuit as well. Dubbed in Telugu as ‘Rangam’ and released in over 150 halls, the film has managed critical reviews besides raking in huge collections at the box-office.
Not one the rest on his laurels, a happy Anand is said to have already begun work on his next flick which has been titled ‘Maatraan’ and would have Suriya and Kajal Aggarwal playing lead roles. Let’s wish Anand in advance for the success of ‘Maatraan’!
