It is a mixed reaction from Kollywood to the election results that were declared a couple of days ago. While some welcomed the change with the hope that the film industry would thrive hereafter, others resigned from their posts following the change in the government.
On Friday, after trends clearly indicated that AIADMK supremo J Jayalalithaa is all set to take over the mantle of Tamil Nadu, Rama Narayanan, the Chief of the Producer’s Council resigned from his post citing personal works as the reason.
Now, Khushboo, who had emerged as the star campaigner of DMK in the recently concluded assembly elections, has resigned from her post as the President of the Chinna Thirai Producers council(CTPC). She had cited her busy shooting schedules to be the reason for her resignation.
The actress also thanked the members of the association, for their co-operation.
Though Khushboo had cited her shooting schedules as reason for her resignation, sources in the industry say that she resigned from the post following the astounding victory of the AIADMK.
Khushboo, the top heroine in Tamil cinema in 1990s playing heroine to all prominent heroes including Rajinikanth, joined the DMK a few months ago and campaigned vigorously for the party for 13 April Assembly elections.
