Bollywood’s sexy siren and one of the top actresses, Katrina Kaif, has regretted the missed ‘opportunity’ to play the heroine opposite superstar Rajinikanth in his upcoming film Kochadaiyam. Hong Kong-born Katrina Kaif gets her ultra-stylish looks and a near-perfect face from her mixed parentage comprising an Indian Kashmiri father and a Briton national as mother.
“It’s indeed a costly miss on my part to be not able to star alongside a legend like Rajini in Kochadaiyan. Still, I’m hopeful of getting a film with him in future,” Kat, as she is fondly referred to, has opined. It was Katrina who was the first-choice of Soundarya, the film’s director, to pair up opposite Rajini. Though Kat had reportedly assured the director that she would ‘adjust’ her call-sheet dates, it turned out to be not so easy.
Soon, Deepika Padukone was announced as the heroine to pair up opposite Rajini in the film. No specific reason, however, was given for Kat not making the final cut. Katrina has opened up on the issue and has said, “Soundarya had told me that it would be enough even if I would be able to spare 20 days for the film’s shoot. I tried my best to adjust my pre-committed call-sheet dates to accommodate those 20 days but couldn’t manage it.
“Due to my prior commitments for a film with Shah Rukh, I can’t commit myself to any other project for the next few months. That the shooting has been going on in the other half of the globe made matters worse. Though I’m disappointed at having missed out, I’m confident of getting the opportunity very soon,” concludes Katrina.
